Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Inquisitors #2
Summary
Star Wars’newest comic series continues to draw a clear distinction between the Imperial Inquisitors and the Dark Lords of the Sith. While they might wield red lightsabers and the dark side of the Force, the Inquisitors aren’t considered to be Sith themselves. Instead, they’re of a much lower class than Darth Vader and his master Emperor Palpatine.
As seen in the newStar Wars: Inquisitors #2by Rodney Barnes and Ramon Rosanas, the Fifth Brother is hunting for a high-priority target named Tensu Run. Run is a former Jedi Knight who possesses the ability to inspire others to join his cause as he attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order during the Dark Times. As such,Vader promises great pain and “legendary suffering"shouldThe Grand Inquisitorand those below him fail to produce this crucial Jedi survivor:

While it’s been known for quite some time that the Inquisitors were subservient to Darth Vader, the Dark Lord’s constant threats serve as a dark confirmation regardinghow the Inquisitors were perceived by their Sith masters: completely and entirely expendable.
Star Wars Movies In Order: How To Watch Release Order, Chronologically & With The TV Shows
What’s the best way to watch Star Wars? Here’s everything you need to know to watch in release or timeline order, and how to include the TV shows.
The Inquisitors Constantly Operated Under The Threat of Great Pain
Vader Commanded His Agents Through Fear
Beyond Vader’s dire warning to the Grand Inquisitor, the Dark Lord also sent a direct holo-message to the Fifth Brother in this newStar Warsissue as well.Telling him to"not underestimate the consequences of failure”, the understanding was clear that the Inquisitor needed to produce Tensu Run sooner rather than later. After all, the alternative is more than likely torture, maiming, and probably execution. After all,Vader cutting off the limbs of his own Inquisitorsto teach them loss and pain has already been established in the canon from 2017’sDarth Vaderseries.
Even though Tensu Run chooses to face the Fifth Brother outright rather than continue to hide, the Inquisitor still fails to recover the Jedi for Lord Vader by the end of the issue. He also lets the Fifth Brother live after beating Vader to the punch, having cut off the Jedi-hunter’s arm. As a result, things are not looking good for the Fifth Brother once he presumably returns to theFortress Inquisitorius on Nurempty-handed. As such, it serves as key proof regarding what little value the Sith have for their agents when they fail.

The Inquisitors Were Nothing More Than Tools For The Sith
Living Weapons (That Were Easy To Discard)
Ultimately, the Inquisitors were nothing more than living tools and instruments whom the SIthused to ensure any surviving Jedi wouldn’t make a comeback to the galaxy during the Empire’s oppression. It didn’t matter what happened to them or how they succeeded. However, the continual dark promises that the Inquisitors would face great pain and be discarded in death helped prove that the far more powerful Sith could easily bring a quick end to any Inquisitors who experienced failure and disruption to their plans.
