Marvel quickly proved that this desire would be possible with the confirmation ofDaredevil: Born Again’s story, which premiered in March 2025 to acclaim for how it revitalizes the world of Netflix’sDefendersSaga in the MCU. AsDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 continues its production, more set photos have been shown. Following the set photo of Karen Page returning alongside Matt Murdock, recentlyMatt was shown sporting a brand-new Daredevil costume. New set photos (via@petergcornell) show Daredevil donning a new black suit, a major change from his traditional red suit or even the yellow and red one he wore inShe-Hulk.

Comic fans will probably be excited, given thatDaredevil’s black suit is closely associated with theShadowlandsaga, where he wore a similar one. Despite the nod toShadowland, it seems likeDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 will be adapting a lot ofDevil’s Reign, which focuses on Wilson Fisk becoming mayor of New York and outlawing vigilantes, which the first season focused on. Daredevil’s black suit makes sense as he goes on the run following Fisk’s outlaw of vigilantes.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Is Confirmed By Marvel

The Show’s Initial Production Led To Season 2’s Early Confirmation

To adequately explore the confirmation ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, it is first worth exploring how the show’s first season was developed. In July 2022,Daredevil: Born Againwas first announced at San Diego Comic-Con, with Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, confirming it as an 18-episode season on Disney+. At first, this was met with great excitement, given the long-running complaint that many of both Marvel’s best and worst-ranked TV shows felt like stretched-out movies as opposed to seasons of television.

From WandaVision to Agatha All Along, Loki to Ms. Marvel, the MCU’s Disney+ TV shows have been hits - but how do they all compare to one another?

However, the delay in production caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023 saw Marvel realize thatDaredevil: Born Againwas not working. This led to a massive creative overhaul, including a new showrunner, a new directing duo, and the writing of new episodes that renderedDaredevil: Born Againas a continuation of Netflix’s show. It was then confirmed that nine of the 18 planned episodes would beDaredevil: Born Againseason 1, which began releasing on Disney+ in March 2025.

As perEntertainment Weekly, the other nine episodes that were initially planned were then left over to form the basis ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 2. Given that so much work had already begun on the entire 18-episode arc of the show, the new showrunner and directing duo felt there was enough there to begin season 2 essentially straight away, though the former - Dario Scardapane - confirmed only eight would be used for season 2. This explains whyDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 has already been confirmed by Marvel and is on the way sooner than we first thought.

Production Is Already Underway

In an increasingly rare act of swiftness for the modern age of TV,Daredevil: Born Againseason 2 began shooting before the first season was even released. An interview withColliderfive days beforeDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s premiere saw Scardapane confirm that the continuation began shooting the following Friday, August 22, 2025, even hinting at the potential for season 3:

The first batch of filming then began in New York City, meaning some elements of season 2 were already captured beforeDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s premiere on March 4 of that year. This same event saw the Head of Marvel Television, Brad Winderbaum, comment toColliderthat Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, the new directing duo hired for the overhaul ofDaredevil: Born Again, would return for season 2, stating,“they’re amazing.I would work with them forever if I could.”

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Will Release In 2026

The Wait Is Not Long For Season 2

The quick turnaround in production betweenDaredevil: Born Againseasons 1 and 2 is increasingly rare in the world of modern TV. In recent years, most big-budget TV shows take two to three years to produce, sometimes even longer, causing more drastic wait times between each season. Thankfully, though,Daredevil: Born Again’s unique structure that saw it split into two seasons meant production could begin quickly on a second season.

Not only does this confirm that season 2 is planned for 2026 but that a potential third season could then be set for 2027…

The first season is all but guaranteed to be a success, and the quick production time means thatDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 is set for release in 2026. Screen Rant’s own Liam Crowley spoke to Brad Winderbaum about this beforeDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s release, asking if the show is set to become one with an annual release. Winderbaum gave an answer that is sure to please the fans who long for the bygone era of yearly TV releases.

The Head of Marvel Television stated:“That is the plan. Season 2 will come out next year, and then, hopefully, season 3 and season infinity after that.“Not only does this confirm that season 2 is planned for 2026 but that a potential third season could then be set for 2027. This would give the production crew a solid break between production onDaredevil: Born Againseasons 2 and 3, should the production timeline remain consistent with the latter shooting just before the release of the former.
