For context, Hemsworth’s “cameo” was actually repurposed archival footage fromThor: The Dark World, with Reynolds' character getting inserted through CGI in the place of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Chris Hemsworth’s Deadpool & Wolverine Comment Fuels An Avengers 6 Theory
WhiletheDeadpool & Wolverineendingdidn’t offer any more clues as to what is going on in this future scene between Wade and Thor, Hemsworth’s recent comment may suggest that it will come to fruition down the line - though it has been interpreted by some as the actor asking Reynolds to share rather than knowing the full story about the Thor scene himself. While there haven’t been plans announced yet for Hemsworth’s Thor, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the character next returns forAvengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Wars.
Indeed, the Thor actor mentioning “secrets” appears to have added more fuel to the fire for those theorizing the scene may come up inthe plot ofAvengers: Secret Wars. It’s possible there could be a storyline that involves Deadpool saving Thor by making a heroic sacrifice, thus the reason for the Avenger hero to be sobbing over Wade. Whether or not Deadpool stays dead is a completely separate debate, as Wade could easily get resurrected thanks to his powerful healing factor, which the God of Thunder may not initially be aware of.
It would also be in line with Deadpool’s comedy if the entire scene fromDeadpool & Wolverinewas actually just to set up a gag for a future release, with Wade turning to the camera at this moment and addressing how he knew the audience would have a lot of theories about why Hemsworth’s character was crying. Whatever the case, it is certainly going to be interesting to see when Deadpool actually gets to meet the Avengers and other heroes in the MCU. Hopefully, following the events ofDeadpool & Wolverine, it will happen sooner rather than later.
