In a recent interview withTVInsider, actorJonathan Bailey confirms that he will be returning as Anthony inBridgertonseason 4. While the actor remains cagey about how Anthony will factor into the new episodes and how the larger story of the season will play out, he does reveal that he’ll be filming for “a couple of weeks.” Check out his comments below:
“Well, I look forward to reading the scripts. No, I mean we’re gonna follow the stories. The thing aboutBridgertonthat is so brilliant is that there’s so many different ways you’re able to fall in love as humans, and that’s what the show will explore, and obviously being the older brother, I’m gonna be there to support the youngsters as we go.
“I have a couple of weeks etched out in my schedule for returning, so I’m really excited. And Luke Thompson is gonna be stunning. And who knows who his love interest is gonna be?”

As with Quinn’sBridgertonbooks, each season has thus far focused on a different romantic pairing. Season 1 told the story of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page), season 2 focused on Anthony and Kate (Simone Ashley), and season 3 was all about Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton). It’s now been confirmed thatBridgertonseason 4 will focus on Benedict(Luke Thompson) and his romantic exploits.

Bridgerton season 4 will be all about Benedict as the upcoming episodes are set to adapt his love story from Julia Quinn’s book series.
Both Anthony and Kate are absent for long stretches ofBridgertonseason 3, and it’s possible that their role in season 4 will be similarly small.Bailey’s comment about his filming only taking “a couple of weeks” would suggest that he won’t be in all episodesof season 4. Filming for season 3, for example, started in July 2022 and concluded in March 2023, speaking to just how many months a season ofBridgertonactually takes to film.
Like season 1, 2, and 3,Bridgertonseason 4 will consist of eight episodes. The new season doesn’t yet have a release date.
As of writing,Ashley is not yet confirmed to be reprising her role as Kate inBridgertonseason 4, but with Bailey having now revealed his return, it’s possible that Ashley will do the same over the next few weeks. It’s hard to imagine, after all, that Anthony will return to play a role in season 4 while Kate is entirely absent. As for their storyline, season 3 reveals that Kate is pregnant, so it’s entirely possible that their first child, Edmund, will be arriving inBridgertonseason 4.
