Break free.” This decryption was proven correct as part of the full new trailer shared last night,as at one point the trailer repeats the words “break free” with no context.

The messages at the end of the new trailer are much lengthier and share a lot more information, thoughthey’re just as confusing in their translated forms as in the original glyphs.The decrypted versions were shared on Reddit byRegi_Sicariiwithin hours of the new trailer launch and state, in order of appearance:

Regi_Sicarii also shares an additional decrypted message that states “one two one two” and “we are moon called.” These additional messages helped Regi and other fans decode the new messages, though the meaning behind them remains as hidden as if they were still encrypted.

Not much is known yet about the meaning of this secret message or how it ties into all the new information revealed in theBorderlands 4trailer. The trailer shows a massive war breaking out between two factions, an emphasis on mechanical elements, includinga glimpse of several bandit-mech abominations, and four brand-new vault hunters embarking on a new adventure.
The messages in this and the last trailers seem to hint at apotential connection to The Watcher, who shows up inBorderlands: The Pre-Sequelto warn the adventurers of an impending war across time and space that will need as many vault hunters as they can get. The messages' discussion of time and the war that seems to break out inBorderlands 4all seem to hint that what players are seeing in the trailers is only what is on the surface, with much more lore and story left to uncover as the events in the next title play out.
