What Is Poison In Black Myth: Wukong
Damage Status Effect
Players first confront the Poison status effect as they progress through Chapter 1, specifically when facing theSnake Patroller and Skeletal Snake Lesser Yaoguais. These enemies roam in Bamboo Grove, particularly in Snake Trail, leading up to theboss battle inBlack Myth: Wukongagainst Guangmou.
When struck and attacked by these enemies, a green mist will instantly surround your body. Furthermore, your HP will begin to decline at a fairly quick rate, as indicated by the small green icon below, which shows that you are in a Poisoned state. You will also see a separate bar aside from your HP pool, showcasing your Poison intake, which will increase as your health goes down.

During the boss fight against Guangmao, a Yaoguai Chief, he summons many snakes into the battle arena, and they all release clouds of poison toward you. ensure to roll and dodge out of the way of these to avoid the same Poisoned state.
While you can take a sip from your Gourd to bring your HP back up, your health will continue to decline while in the Poisoned state until you inevitably perish unless you mitigate the effects. While thestatus effect is temporary, you will likely use up all your Gourds to prevent your imminent death before the effects fully wear off, which will leave you extremely vulnerable in combat.

This isn’t ideal if you’re surrounded by many enemies who deal the same damage. Resting at a Keeper’s Shrine isn’t necessarily the right answer either, as while it will heal you of all ailments, it will simply reset your surroundings, including those same enemies, until it happens again.
As you progress into Chapter 2, you will come across manymore types of Yaoguais who deal the same Poison-based damage, so knowing how to get rid of the effects is integral to surviving and progressing inBlack Myth: Wukong.
