If you are looking for the Genzaburo soldiers inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, you might need a little bit of help. There are five main targets, including Genzaburo himself, and it will be quite the challenge to take them all down yourself. While you can get this quest fairly early on,you will not be able to complete it right away without doing a fair amount of leveling.

There are a lot ofside quests inAssassin’s Creed: Shadows, and if you don’t do all of them, you might find yourself lagging a bit behind when it comes to the number of Mastery Points you have. You want as many as you can get, because any extra you have once you reach the final Knowledge Rank can go into boosting basic stats. You can become an unstoppable Shinobi or samurai by the end of the game if you put in the work, and you will need to be quite powerful to take down the Genzaburo.

The difficulty settings from Assassin’s Creed Shadows behind Naoe and Yasuke.

Starting The Fallen Soldiers Side Quest

Where To Go & When It Unlocks

The Fallen Soldiers quest will be added to your objectives board after defeating the Ox in themain story ofAssassin’s Creed Shadows. You will first meet Koshiro during the questline to kill the Ox,as he is part of the group of deserters that Naoe and Yasuke seek to rescue. However, that gets him in trouble with the Genzaburo soldiers after the conclusion of that quest, and you can speak to him to find out what’s going on.

The Best Difficulty Setting For Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Not What I Expected

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a number of key difficulty options, but its hardest completely transforms the game into a vastly different experience.

He will be waiting at theKyokaiji Temple, where you first re-group during that questline. Return to the temple and speak to him, and he will open up the People of Harima quest board as well as a new board for the Genzaburo Soldiers. However, one difference between this and the Yokai, for example, is that you will only get access to the location of the first soldier, and you will have to take the quests in order.

The Scout location in AC Shadows

However, the other thing to keep in mind is that the quest isrecommended for Level 41 or higher, which you likely will not be at this time in the game, as the Ox is around Level 26. There are ways to assassinate all of them, which is good becauseyou must complete this quest as Naoe.

you’re able to do this early if you want, but you will have toturn on Guaranteed Assassinationsanduse Naoe. You might be able to fight it out if you’re better at the game’s combat sections than I am, but it will be extremely difficult, as you will be doing piecemeal damage.

The Swordsman map location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

I am unsure whether you could seek out the next soldier out of order once you see their locations, but they do get more difficult as you go, so keep that in mind. You will have to talk to Koshiro before going after Genzaburo himself, and I wouldn’t recommend trying to skip that.

The Scout’s Location

Level 43

The Scout is fairly easy to assassinate if you don’t want to have a protracted fight. You will find him in the Silver Lands, and approaching this location will let you see the Scout as he plays the same instrument as Naoe. Many bushes and tall grass options behind him will let you approach quietly, no matter the time of day. Once you take him out, you will be given a clue as to where the next one is.

The Swordsman’s Location

The Swordsman is near Mount Kasagata in Harima, andit is pretty close to the edge of the map. He is standing on a bridge, facing the direction you are likely to be coming from. To assassinate him, go at night anduse the bushes to navigate past the bridge and cross the river below.

Approach him from behindto get the assassination prompt to trigger. If you are unable to assassinate him, he is a very good dueler, so you will need to be on your A-game. I usuallysaved before I entered a combat zone with the Genzaburo soldiers, so I could reload and try the assassination option again if I missed.

The Teppo Expert map location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Teppo Expert’s Location

Level 45

This one is a bit tricky. You will find The Teppo Expert at the Kaya Shrine, also in the Mount Kasagata region. However, the first clues you get will lead you to the area below the shrine, where you have to do some eavesdropping to get more clues. That said, once you head up to the shrine, use your observation skills to see exactly where The Teppo Expert is sitting.

This is another one where thetime of day inAC Shadowsmatters and will be a significant benefit. He will have three soldiers with him. If you are facing his location from the shrine’s main area, you should go around to the left so that you come up behind him. Otherwise, you are likely to be spotted by his companions. Once you assassinate him, the rest of his soldiers will be angry and chase you. One of them followed me much further than I expected them to.

The Poisoner map location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Poisoner’s Location

Level 41

This one will be a little harder for you to get into the position to assassinate The Poisoner. However, it is possible. You will first be directed to two boyswho want to sneak into her biwa performance. This will take you to a spot where you can see a hole in the wall so you canenter the Nishinomaru Gardens. After that, it’s up to you to figure the rest out.

The audience will not notice you are not supposed to be there. However, the Poisoner and a patrolling security member will. There is only 1,and he walks in a circle, so he is fairly easy to avoid. However, the Poisoner is sitting in the middle of the lake, making it hard to sneak up on her while not getting seen.

The climbing pole to the tree above the Poisoner quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

One Assassin’s Creed Shadows Mechanic Has Me Way More Excited For AC Hexe

Assassin’s Creed Shadows introduces a handful of new ideas, and one that’s cool here could be absolutely game-changing in Assassin’s Creed Hexe.

What you will want to do islook at the biggest tree sitting on the bank closest to the Poisoner. This tree cannot be directly climbed, so you will need to find a way to its upper branches. Head back behind it, andyou will find a standing pole that Naoe can climb, which you can see in the picture above. From there, you can parkour over to the tree that rests behind the Poisoner, putting you in a prime position to do an air assassination.

Genzaburo’s Location

You will have to approach Genzaburo to talk to him, who will try to force you into open combat. If you’re like me and want to only perform stealth attacks, you’re able to run around the building once the fight starts and grapple onto the roof. Hide up there so that Genzaburo can’t see you, wait for him to start searching for you, and then edge over to the side of the roof and await the assassination prompt.

I found it very effective. After that, you will have a short, sweet cutscene with Koshiro, and the quest will end. The final reward is 5000 XP and 1 Mastery Point, as well as two Legendary Engravings for your weapons inAssassin’s Creed Shadows.
