For a long time,Dragon Ballkept Goku and Vegeta as the most powerful warriors in the universe. Even in the most current arcs, the two Saiyans achieved power levels beyond what they once thought possible. While some characters appear as temporary hurtles, there are some that are inherently more powerful.

Ever since the introduction ofDragon Ball Super, Goku and Vegeta haveencountered a whole new realm of beings that put them to shame in terms of power and competition. The Saiyans have discovered a hierarchy in the universe that they were completely unaware of during the era ofDragon Ball Z. With the universe expanded and the latest peaks of power raised much higher, it’s no wonder there are at least a few beings who outrank Vegeta and Goku.

6Black Frieza

Black Frieza Instantly Outclassed Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego

Frieza’s return to the series and unlocking forms like Golden Frieza and Black Friezaprove that he’s the franchise’s greatest villain. He made his quick appearance in theDragon Ball Supermanga after training for ten years in a space similar to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. When Black Frieza appears,he easily outclasses Goku’s Ultra Instinct and Vegeta’s Ultra Egoand defeats them in an instant. The power gap that opened up between them and Frieza is completely staggering on its own, but the fact that it was Frieza of all the characters is proof of how much of a menace he is.

Dragon Ball Super Already Showed How Goku and Vegeta Will Beat Black Frieza

Regardless of Frieza’s power, Goku and Vegeta have been able to defeat him by taking advantage of one key vulnerability that he never fails to show.

Frieza returned to the series as a villain multiple times throughout the franchise, each time more powerful than before. He has shown that he’s capable of keeping up with the Saiyans, reaching powerful new transformations of his own. With the arrival of Black Frieza, Goku, and Vegeta may be in for their most difficult battle yet. Frieza is ruthless and cunning, andhis quick appearance is just a small taste of what’s to comefor the future ofDragon Ball Super.

5Beerus

The God of Destruction Has Never Shown His Full Power

With the introduction of Beerus, a whole new realm of possibilities opened up inDragon Ball. Despite the fact that Goku and Vegeta achieved Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego,the God of Destruction remains one step ahead. Even though Goku’s Ultra Instinct is getting closer to rivaling Beerus’ power, it’s made clear that he still has a lot to learn before he can truly stand up to Beerus.

As a master of Hakai, the destructive energy capable of erasing things from existence, Beerus holds the power to destroy any enemy that comes before him. As a divine being,Beerus has had eons of experience, making his power all the more terrifying. Perhaps what makes him most intimidating is his nonchalant attitude toward combat despite his opponents going all out.Beerus has to hold himself back when battling with Goku and Vegeta, appearing as if not to break a sweat during their encounters.

4Whis

Whis Is Beerus’ Mentor and Far More Powerful Than the God of Destruction

As an Angel, Whis was born in a completely different league than Goku, Vegeta, and even Beerus. DuringDragon Ball Super,Whis explained thathe’s more than Beerus’ attendant and that he acts as a mentor as well. Even though he acts in service to the God of Destruction, he is reportedly more powerful than Beerus. Whis’ power is dangerous because of his complete mastery over numerous techniques, including Ultra Instinct.

As Goku and Vegeta train with Whis,he casually and tirelessly spars against them with little to no effort. His power makes him virtually untouchable, and his abilities, like turning back time, make him more powerful than Goku or Vegeta can hope to achieve. Whis has yet to show off the full extent of his power, andhe likely never will, considering his role as an Angel.

Vados in Dragon Ball Super (1)

3Vados

According to Whis, Vados Is Even More Powerful Than He Is

As the Angel attendant of Universe Six’s God of Destruction, Champa,it’s only natural that she is more powerful than Champa and Beerus as well. Although she appears as if she is equal to Whis in terms of power, it’s been reiterated that she surpasses Whis and is more experienced. Like all angels, Vados is capable of Ultra Instinct and possesses power and abilities that far outclass Goku and Vegeta.

Like Whis, her greatest advantage is her mastery of multiple techniques and vast experience. With her control of time, space, and energy, she has never needed to unleash her full power and likely never will. Despite Goku and Vegeta’s incredible growth throughout the series,Vados remains one character they will probably never be able to surpass.

2Grand Priest

The Grand Priest Is One of the Highest Authorities in Dragon Ball

The Grand Priest stands as the top authority among the Angelsand is one of the most powerful beings in all ofDragon Ball. As the father of Whis, Vados, and all the other angle attendants, it’s expected that he would be the most experienced, wisest, and most powerful, making the Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kais pale in comparison. The Grand Priest is in a league far above both Whis and Vados, and his power is likely incomprehensible to mortals like Goku and Vegeta.

Dragon Ball Just Debuted Its Most Powerful Being in Franchise History, And Daima Fans Are Reeling

Dragon Ball Daima just introduced a powerful new figure whose achievements are almost completely unable to be matched by any existing character.

The Grand Priest’s authority is demonstrated during and after the events in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc. While the battle with Moro is ongoing and Merus puts himself on the line, Beerus realizes that the Grand Priest may be angry at him for his inaction and decides it’s in his best interest to go back with Whis in order to stop Merus. However, Merus does end up breaking Angel law during the battle, and at the end of the arc, theGrand Priest penalizes them by forcing them to watch over Zenoand humoring his antics.

Zeno in Dragon Ball Super

1Zeno

The Omni-King Has the Power To Erase Entire Universes Without Even Trying

The Omni-King, Zeno, transcends every conventional notion of strength and power inDragon Ball. As the supreme ruler of the multiverse,Zeno has more authority than the Gods of Destruction, Supreme Kais, Angels, and the Grand Priest. With a mere snap of his fingers, he can entirely erase universes without any effort, making fighters like Goku and Vegeta seem insignificant. While his power doesn’t stem from physical strength, his abilities make him one of the most feared beings in the universe.

Perhaps even more terrifying is his childlike personality, consideringhe has been seen erasing universes on a whim. While Goku has a friendly relationship with Zeno, there is no amount of training that Goku or Vegeta can do to rival Zeno’s universe-ending power. Against Zeno, strength and strategy become completely meaningless in comparison to his power and status inDragon Ball’shierarchy.

Dragon Ball

From the creative mind of Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball is a mega multimedia franchise that spans back to the 1980s. Dragon Ball expanded quickly, starting as a serialized manga for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan. It made its way overseas via manga and an anime adaptation that is enjoyed worldwide. Dragon Ball was the initial starting animated series that followed the adventures of the young Son Goku as he sought after the Dragon Balls. These mystical orbs would grant the wish of any who gathered them together. Then, the series would branch off into the immensely popular Dragon Ball Z, which followed Goku as an adult and featured high-intensity battles and Goku’s never-ending search to be the strongest. The series has also enjoyed several popular video game adaptations and continues to release several new animated series and theatrical films up to the recent popular Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
