There are a variety of side quests necessary to acquire key items, or simply to 100% completeBlack Myth: Wukong. Some quests the Monkey will cross naturally, like Man-In-Stone, and can becompleted within a given chapter. Other quests, like Xu Dog and finding theFive Skandhas Pill, are longer undertakings that requireprogressing through the entirety of the story. Thoroughly explore each chapter before moving onto the next.

Ring The Bells To Acquire Fireproof Mantle Vessel
The Three Bells
While there are two side quests located in Chapter One, the Three Bells Quest and the Urge Unfulfilled Quest, the former is moreessential to the completion of the first chapter. Whereas the latter, Urge Unfulfilled, is a much longer quest.
Black Myth: Wukong - How To Find & Beat Yellow Loong (Secret Boss)
Yellow Loong is one of four Yaoguai King secret bosses in Black Myth: Wukong you can beat for rare rewards, but this electric warrior is hard to find.
Two of the game’s longer quests have been separated from their initial chapters and areexplained in the last section of this article. The remaining quests can be completed within their respective chapters, starting with the Three Bells Quest in Chapter One. While optional, completion of this quest grantsFireproof Mantle; which offers considerable aid during thechapter’s final boss fight.

Before moving on to the next chapter, always ensure you’re done exploring the region, or risk missing out on advancing certain quest lines.
The Three Bells Quest isBlack Myth: Wukong’sfirstVessel Quest. Vessels are key items that grant strong active and passive effects to the Destined One when equipped. Their abilities differ, but each will offer significant buffs to the Monkey.

For instance, Fireproof Mantle’s active effectgreatly reduces fire damage. To get Fireproof Mantle, locate the three bells and ring them. The first bell is found inGuangzhi’s boss arena. The second is in Guangmo’s arena in Bamboo Grove. Third, defeat Whiteclad Noble and journey down the water path. Ringing the final bell will transport the player to a secret area.
Unlock A Skandha, Merchant, Wind Tamer Vessel, And Secret Boss
Buddha’s Eyeballs: Skandha of Feeling
Upon reaching the Fright Cliff area, one of the first items to interact with is aBuddha Head statue. Recall that in Chapter One,Buddha head statues are related to Skandhas. This time, instead of collecting a Skandha immediately, the Monkey simply absorbs Buddha’s Eyeballs. This initiates the quest forSkandha of Feeling. Collect all six eyeballs and thenfight Shingandang to collect the next Skandha.
Man-In-Stone: Sobering Stone
Again, in the Fright Cliff area, Man-In-Stone will be found in a ravinecalling for help. This quest is a prerequisite for another Chapter Two side mission, the Drunken Boar.Follow the NPC’s request. Free the man, fight the man, and defeat the man. Once beaten,Man-In-Stone becomes a valuable merchant. Make sure to buy theSobering Stoneand then search for the Drunken Boar.
Drunken Boar: Wind Tamer Vessel
Not far from the Rockrest Flat Shrine,Drunken Boarwill be found lying down in a barren field. This NPC will send you on three different fetch quests before opening a passage to a secret area,the Kingdom of Sahali. First, deliver the Sobering Stone to the Boar. Next, feed the BoarJade Lotuson the steps of the Crouching Tiger Temple. Lastly, defeat the Prince of Flowing Sands to acquire theArhat Gold Piece. When you encounter Drunken Boar again, the NPC is hostile. Defeat the Boar and move one step closer to claimingWind Tamer.
In Yellow Wind Formation,defeat Tiger’s Acolyteto earn theOle Rattle Drum. Use the drum when prompted in Windseal Gate, Windrest Hamlet, and near the well in the first village area,to fight secret boss Mad Tiger. Slay the chief and claim the Tiger’s spirit.

Mad Tiger Fight: the boss is aggressive but can be overwhelmed by the spell A Pluck Of Many.
Find A Soak, Spell Binder, Snow Fox Brush, and Chubai Spearhead
Turtle Tear: Powerful Soak
Travel to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake, following the skeleton bones until reaching a boss arena. Once Apramana Bat is defeated,interact with the skeleton in the arena. The turtle will drop its tear at the opposite end of the shore. Run back and claim the powerfulTurtle Tear, which recovers amoderate amount of Mana when using the gourd.
Treasure Hunter: Spell Binder
When you talk to theTreasure Hunterin North Shore of the Bitter Lake, the NPC is struggling for warmth in this “frozen land.” Warming the Treasure Hunter up in Forest of Felicity withRing of Firewill advance the quest, eventually leading to a new Spell. Defeat Green Capped Martialist in the Melon Field arena to earnSpell Binder:a martial arts-focused ability.
Snow Fox Brush: Curio
Rather straightforward, the quest forSnow Fox Brushrequires another NPC encounter that unlocks a secret boss. Speak with Snow Fox Corpse and then travel to Thunderclap Temple wherethe chief is waiting in the Side Hall. Fight Non-Void, then return to Snow Fox Corpse to earn theSnow Fox Brush Curio.This Curio increases the duration of Transformations.
Captain Spirits: Chubai Spearhead
There are four captain spirits to becollected in Chapter Three. In Pagoda, the Destined One encounters a prisoner who wishes to claim the spirits of these captains: Captain Lotus-Vision, Captain Wise-Voice, Captain Kalpa-Wave are all mini-boss fights.Captain Void-Illusion is dead upon discovery. Return the spirits to the prisoner in exchange for theChubai Spearhead. Use the item toboost your attack powerinBlack Myth: Wukong.
Fight Secret Bosses In Webbed Hollow For Three Powerful Upgrades
Purple Talismans: Somersault Cloud
Collect Four Purple Talismans from altars throughout Verdure Bridge, Cliff of Oblivion, and Temple of Yellow Flowers. Collecting the fourth talisman in the temple will trigger a boss fight withSupreme Inspector in the Court of Illumination. This boss is worth the struggle since the Monkey will be rewarded withSomersault Cloud,the flying spell seen in the Prologue. Somersault Cloud can only becast in the remaining chaptersofBlack Myth: Wukong.
Venom Daoist: Weaver’s Needle
IMPORTANT:CompleteDaoist Mi Questonce you reach Purple Cloud Mountain,BEFORECompleting Venom Daoist Quest.
Arachnophobia Warning: Giant Venomous Spider Guai Ahead. From Pool of Shattered Jade, journey to the home of Venom Daoist. You’ll have to wake the boss up from its cocoon, and it won’t be happy with the monkey for doing so. Out of its nesting state, defeat Venom Daoist in thefirst phase of the battle.

Find the chief again in Temple of Illusion for phase two. Beating the boss grantsaccess to Purple Cloud Mountain. Finally, one last two-phase boss fight with Duskveil to earn the third Vessel:Weaver’s Needle.
Daoist Mi: Violet Hail
The Duskveil fight isn’t the only thing to do in Purple Cloud Mountain. Exploring the secret area,the Destined One will come across Daoist Mi. Yet another devious NPC, Daoist Mi hires the Monkey to clear out Hamlet’s wandering corpses.
Once all enemies have been defeated,Violet Hail (Key Items)will be collected. Return to the Daoist who thanks you bytransforming into an evil guai. Defeating Mi grantsViolet Hail (Spell)Transformation.

Upgrade To A Mythical Gourd And Equip A Key Curio
Five Elemental Carts: Daoist’s Basket Of Fire And Water
Close to the end ofBlack Myth: Wukongside quests remain attractive to the Destined One. In Chapter Five, the Five Elemental Carts quest begins with a boss fight againstPale-Axe Stalwart in the Woods of Ember. Defeating Pale-Axe starts a dialogue where the guai speaks of the Elemental Carts, five to be exact. Find and defeat them around the region to access Bushui Cave. In the cave depths, face off against Golden-Eyed Beast and earn a curio:Daoist’s Basket of Fire And Water.
Supreme Gourd: Healing Item
To unlock this mythical healing item, the Monkey’s Gourd needs to be fully upgraded (nine uses). From Rakshasa Palace Shrine, travel through the valley to wherethe Old Man is sitting. Exhaust his dialogue and interact with the center floor to retrieve theSupreme Gourd, which grants46% of health recovery upon usage.
Xu Dog, Mi Tianba, and Loong Scales Require Consistent Interaction Throughout The Game
Xu Dog And The Five Skandhas
Skandhas can be collectedin the first four chapters of the game. When you initially encounter Xu Dog in Chapter Two, it won’t be obvious that this NPC isresponsible for the Skandhas Quest. Completing Xu Dog’s task at the beginning of Yellow Sand Ridge will move the character.
In Chapter Three, find Chen Loong and deliver the dragon the requested item, which involves traveling back toXu Dog in Yellow Sand Ridge. From this point, Zodiac Village is unlocked and theSkandha of Consciousnesscan be retrieved and brought to Xu Dog.

Urge Unfulfilled: Dark Thunder
Ma Tianba is the horse guai who can be found in each of the five main chapters. The Destined One first encounters Ma Tianba onBlack Wind Mountain. Continue the search for the horse in subsequent chapters to advance the quest. Ultimately, in Chapter Five, the Monkeystumbles upon the NPC stuck in a cart. Interacting with Ma Tianba allows you to claimDark Thunder.
Loong Scales Quest
To face off with secret bosses hidden behind secret passages, the Four Loongs, you’ll have to firstfind the Loong Scales. In Chapter Two, where you face off with the First Prince, there is a curious metallic wall. Use the Jinchi Spirit to smash through the barrier and collectLoong Scales. This item grants access to hidden Loong bosses in the first four chapters ofBlack Myth: Wukong.Look for waterfall areas and listen for dialogue drawing the Monkey to the boss arenas.
