A new cast member has boardedAll American. The sports drama, which premiered in 2018 and is one of the last remaining CW scripted series on that was on the air before the network was acquired by Nexstar, was created by April Blair and stars Daniel Ezra, Bre-Z, Greta Onieogou, and Michael Evans Behling.All Americanseason 7, which will be the first not to feature Ezra as a series regular playing lead character Spencer James, is currently being written and does not yet have an official premiere date.
PerDeadline, Elijah M. Cooper - who played the older version of Angela Bassett’s character’s son Harry Grant in season 7 of9-1-1- has joined the cast ofAll Americanseason 7 in a recurring role. He is set to playSouth Crenshaw High quarterback Yasi. He joins an incoming cast that also includes Osy Ikhile, Nathaniel McIntyre, Antonio J. Bell, and Alexis Chikaeze after the departure of Ezra and his co-stars Samantha Logan, Cody Christian, Karimah Westbrook, Monet Mazur, Jalyn Hall, and Chelsea Tavares at the end of season 6.
At the time of writing,it is unknown how many episodes are set to feature Yasior if there is a plan in place to feature him down the line should season 8 be renewed.

Cooper Is A Good Fit For The Cast
As theAll Americancastgrows after the mass post-season 6 exodus, Cooper’s new character could prove to be quite important in the show’s plan to move forward after losing so many leads. Luckily,Cooper has experience stepping into a long-running seriesand naturally occupying a character. This is due to his three-episode appearance in9-1-1season 7, where he stepped in to take over the character of Harry after Marcanthonee Jon Reis played the role for the first five seasons.
Marcanthonee Jon Reis was a recurring star in9-1-1season 1 but was promoted to series regular for seasons 2 through 5.
Cooper’s other onscreen experience has afforded himopportunities to star in a variety of different genres, all of which should help him craft a character with many layers even if he doesn’t occupy the same screen time as the new series regulars.
