It ’s mind - blowing to conceive Ahsoka is already over . sports fan wait geezerhood to seehow the character ’s chronicle would proceed and now , a simple eight episodes by and by , a major man of that story has come to its end .
The time of year has reckon its ups and downs , from aslow - pace , slightly unfocusedfirst few episodes , tosome vastly rewarding , mythology - heavy later entering . The finale see almost every plot line from this season strain some sort of conclusion . Many of those were satisfying , several were not , but it ’s where we ’ll give Ahsoka , Sabine , Ezra , Hera , Thrawn , Shin , Baylan , and others for the next however many year , until wehopefully see them again .
The 8th and last episode ofAhsokaseason one was called “ The Jedi , the Witch and the Warlord . ” Which makes more horse sense at the beginning of the episode than at the end of it . Obviously , we eff who the Jedi and warlord are — Ahsoka and Thrawn — and , after the pre - title chronological sequence , the enchantress was pretty obvious too .

Thrawn and Morgan are preparing to entrust Peridea when he ’s order his strength have located Ahsoka . The warlord beam in two TIE fighter to attempt to wipe them out , a decision Morgan inquiry . She does n’t see Ahsoka as a terror anymore , but Thrawn explains that make Assumption about your enemies can be a monumental mistake , one the Empire made with the Rebellion and one he made with Ezra Bridger . Never again .
As a wages for her service though , Morgan is offered a luck to pledge her life to the Nightsisters , an offer she eagerly have . The Nightsisters do what look like an frightfully afflictive rite , seemingly giving Morgan new abilities and a fresh new weapon called the Blade of Talzin , which has those same non-white magick belongings . She is now their sister and , clearly , the “ witch ” of the title . But her overall importance in the instalment does not seem as crucial as the other two because , well , we ’ll get to it .
Elsewhere on Peridea , Ahsoka and Huyang have at last unite up with Sabine , Ezra , and the Noti . Since Ezra does not have a weapon , he ’s in Ahsoka ’s ship try out to make a lightsaber . Huyang does n’t care his methods and call for how he even know how to do this . Sabine interjects that it was his master , Kanan Jarrus , who Huyang then unveil he trained . This stun both of the Rebels as they consider the scope of Huyang ’s knowledge , which Huyang confirm by yield Ezra one final piece to the sabre , an emitter Huyang was hold back on just in case he saw Kanan again . He feels it ’s only right for Ezra to have it .

Armed with a brand fresh sabre , Ezra asks Huyang one of the many lingering questions that have been hovering over the show . What exactly happen between Sabine and Ahsoka ? Huyang explains that after take Sabine as her prentice , Ahsoka left the relationship out of fear Sabine was only education to get retaliation against the Empire for her family dying in the Purge of Mandalore ( a dreaded incident we saw concisely in The Mandalorian , when hundreds of G of Mandlalorians died ) . She feel that , if their training carry on , Sabine could become dangerous .
So that ’s one bragging mystery the finale finally solved . The 2d was a little less clear and rewarding . For a few episode , we ’d wondered what result there would be for Sabine ’s conclusion with Baylan and the map , gambling the circumstances of the galaxy for her friend Ezra . Ahsoka acknowledge that she jazz about it , and the gamble paid off , but she is n’t unbalanced about it . She explains that a good master copy , like Anakin , stands by their apprentice no matter what decisions they make , and that she ’ll always do that for Sabine too . And so , there are no import . ( Of note here is that Anakin did n’t always do that for Ahsoka . His want of full , unfaltering funding was a big agent in her leaving the Jedi Order , but it seems recent interactions between them , and Darth Vader ’s death , have change over a bit of that perspective . )
As the talk of the town between victor and apprentice preserve , and Ahsoka stress that mind and dead body preparation is more important than lightsaber training , those TIE fighter aircraft Thrawn ordered arrive . Despite their typically awful intention , they make out to take out the ship ’s stabiliser , so Ezra and Ahsoka be given under the ship and do their safe to keep it airborne with the Force . They do it just long enough so Sabine can pose the ship up for one crazy maneuver . She slingshots it into the air destroying both TIE scrapper simultaneously — but does so at the disbursal of their ship , which is now in shambles . “ This is gon na slow down us down a bit , ” Ezra says . Which is n’t precisely true because he , Sabine , and Ahsoka snap up a twain of Howlers and head toward Thrawn that way instead .

Thrawn , learn of all this , bang the Jedi are come on the ground and recruits a chemical group of Night Troopers to make the ultimate sacrifice and stay on Peredia in rules of order to keep Ahsoka , Sabine , and Ezra off his Star Destroyer . The conflict begins quickly , with the Star Destroyer firing downward at the Howlers as they race toward the entrance . The door is close though and Ezra , with Sabine ’s assistance , practice the Force in monastic order to open it . What ’s await indoors ? Those Night Troopers , and we get a very squeamish payoff shot of Ahsoka , Sabine , and Ezra , all with their lightsabers blazing .
That of course of action sets up a fairly massive saber battle that , honestly , did n’t look all that keen . The choreography was a bit slow ? Rosario Dawson does n’t look very well-to-do with two sabers ? Either way , the aim was there but the execution was a bit off in terms of what we ’ve seen from other Star Wars lightsaber battles . That ’s partially why it was such a relief when Ahsoka gave Sabine the okay to apply her blaster , which she ’s much well with . The trio victory but the Nightsisters decide to use some of that dark magick . They resurrect the troopers and plough them into zombi .
It ’s the first clip zombies have made it into live - military action Star Wars , though the Nightsistesr did employ them in various ways across The Clone Wars . The automaton stick a tangible menace to the Jedi and so they basically race away . Upstairs , aside from the activity , Morgan secern Thrawn the ship is quick to leave but he ’s worry the Jedi are too close . He involve more time and , without even say it , he heavily imply he wants Morgan to sacrifice herself to hold them off so he can leave . “ For the Empire , ” Thrawn says to her . But Morgan has her own reasons . “ For Dathomir , ” she whisper once he walks away , discover her rightful dedication is to her witchy sisters .

Morgan confronts Ahsoka , Sabine , and Ezra , but Ahsoka make up one’s mind she ’ll take her on solo so the others can stop Thrawn , which is smart because he ’s start out to take the ship out . Sabine and Ezra are hot on his quarter when they run into two almost boss Night Troopers . These cat do n’t die when you stab them with a lightsaber , and a broken helmet reveals they too are undead underneath . One even gets Sabine up against a bulwark , choke the life out of her , which forces her to attempt the unacceptable . She attain out and with every ounce of her being employ the Force to pull her lightsaber towards her . It work out , and she jab him in the temple . Ezra does the same with his cavalry sword , pulling it toward him and decapitating his foe . It ’s a huge consequence for Sabine though as she finally realizes her full potentiality that ’s been bug since the first instalment .
Sabine and Ezra keep up their by-line only to realise the ship is already gone . They ’ll have to jump , which seems impossible , except if you utilize the Force . So Ezra run , jumps , and when he get to the destruction of his arc , Sabine apply the Force to push him almost all the way back up . He captivate the ledge , jumps up , complete a few trooper and he ’s on board . One down , one to go .
It ’s Sabine ’s turn to jump but she find something behind her . The living dead trooper have caught up to Ahsoka and she ’s continued to run aside from them . She ’s now on the same political platform as Sabine and Sabine once again has a pick : Ezra or Ahsoka ? Morgan arrives behind her cavalryman and , with Thrawn ’s ship now out of scope , tells Ahsoka she ’s going to die on this planet alone . “ Not alone , ” says Sabine , who decides to stay back . The two furiously snipe the zombie spirit and Ahsoka finally delivers a death puff on Morgan . The Nightsisters feel it and alert Thrawn that she ’s dead , which was basically his programme anyway . With only Ahsoka , Sabine , and a gang of zombies at the base , Thrawn opens fervency on it , hoping to convey the whole affair down . Ahsoka and Sabine leap and are save by Huyang who has repaired their ship . Now it ’s time to go home .

Ahsoka pushes her ship to the max but does not seem to be capable to entrance up to the Star Destroyer , which is when Thrawn adjudicate to open up up a line of communication . He commends Ahsoka on her efforts and expresses regret they may never get to meet in person . Thrawn then reveals that he knew her master ( in fact , they in reality meton Batuu ) and assumed she would fight as he did . He then adds that he wonders if maybe there are similarity too , a not - so - veiled tip he thinks she ’s susceptible to the Dark Side . He ends by say “ Today , triumph is mine . Long populate the Empire ” before jumping into intergalactic hyperspace in front of them , leaving Ahsoka , Sabine , and Huyang behind in a galaxy far , far aside .
Ahsoka and Sabine tax return to Peredia where the Noti are well-chosen to see them . They also seem fitly contented consider they ’re completely stranded in another galaxy . Just then , Ahsoka look a wench in the distance . It ’s a convor , a species that holds a special place in the Force , and it make Ahsoka conceive about some affair .
Which is exactly when we realized that this entire final episode of the season has so far COMPLETELY IGNORED THE Charles Herbert Best TWO CHARACTERS ON THE ENTIRE SHOW ! Yes , I ’m not ashamed to hold that I was so wrap up up in Ahsoka ’s journey , I almost forgot about Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll . And , in fact , the show very much pushes them to the side too . We ’re remind that they are also both stranded on Peredia now and Shin adjudicate to team up up with the bandits while her master find out himself somewhere else entirely . He ’s stand on two statue that might not mean something to everyone watching , but they entail something to sports fan of Star Wars animation .

Baylan ’s cliffhanger ( almost literally ) is him stand on statue of what appear to be the Father and Son , two of the Mortis Gods , And , since the third God , the Daughter , was often a Convor , maybe that ’s who Ahsoka learn too . Either way , while we still do n’t recognize Baylan ’s full plan , put up with these forcible representations of the Force itself suggests it ’s fairly major . And , off in the distance , barely visible even on video , a beacon blinks on and off .
Back in the steady Star Wars galaxy , Thrawn arrives at Dathomir , the home planet of the Nightsisters to , presumably , start his next reign of terror . And over among the New Republic , an Imperial shuttle get into one of their docking bays . Hera lead a group to inspect it , cautious as ever because this is an regal ship . A lone Stormtrooper walk down with his hands in the line . Hera and her team draw their weapons but one member of the group runs towards the trooper . It ’s Chopper who seems to realise him . The trooper pets the droid and takes off his helmet . Hera ca n’t believe her eyes . “ I ’m rest home , ” says Ezra Bridger , as the screen cut back to show Hera , Chopper , Ezra , and the wraith . This too , like Ezra reuniting with Sabine and Ahsoka , was a very emotional moment for Rebels lover because Hera is kind of Ezra ’s mom in a way . Having them back together is very good news show .
at last , on Peredia , Sabine and Ahsoka discuss their situation . The end of keep back Thrawn from escape failed but they did get Ezra nursing home . And so , Ahsoka says , Ezra is where he involve to be and so are they . Is she referring to the fact the Mortis Gods have a presence here ? Is it because now they can train without distraction ? It ’s indecipherable . But Sabine senses something nearby and Ahsoka sees what it is . It ’s the Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker , watch over his former apprentice , and her new apprentice .

And so , “ The Jedi , The Witch and the Warlord ” ended , with the middle part not playing a peculiarly important role other than stall the fibre . But , as a result , Ahsoka and Sabine literally failed their number one objective of finish Thrawn . It could spell out the end for the New Republic ( we have sex it wo n’t , but they do n’t ) . They did , however , save their good friend Ezra and his return to the beetleweed will be a huge boost to the New Republic . Plus , there is more to explore on Peredia , and Ahsoka and Sabine will have clock time to do just that .
While we did n’t love that Shin and Baylan became throwaway tangent , and some of the legal action sequences leave much to be desire , the season one finis of Ahsoka did its job . It was n’t a totally felicitous ending but Ahsoka and Sabine have become well-to-do with their roles , Ezra has returned , Thrawn is back on the theatre of operations , and the New Republic will hopefully have some idea of what ’s in store . When might we see these fictional character again ? A second season of Ahsoka ? Dave Filoni ’s Star Wars motion picture ? prison term will tell . But in the oddment , if you were a rooter of Star Wars Rebels , Ahsoka gave you the expiation you have been expect over five years for . If you did n’t watch that show , hopefully , you saw enough cool new Star Wars stuff — zombi , other galaxies , etc.—to keep you interested too . Either fashion , we ’ll have a longsighted time to talk about it .
