OneDC Comicsteam that’s been out of the spotlight for a while is about to return sooner than fans think.The All In erais firing on all cylinders and the publisher is continuing to captivate fans everywhere. Now one of the DCU’s best teams is finally getting another chance to entertain readers.
During this past weekend’s Wonder Con, writer Mark Waid spoke as DC’s Superman panel, teasingsome of the Superman-related projectsthe publisher has in store for later this year. Per the Popverse,Waid let it slip during the panel that the Legion of Super-Heroes is set to return “soon"and that he’s confident it will be an incarnation fans will embrace no matter what era they’re a fan of.
Unfortunately, Waid didn’t specify when the team would return or where they’d show up. But he did express confidence in both the material and the person who overseeing the Legion.

For those unfamiliar,the Legion of Super-Heroesis a team of heroes who were inspired by Superman during his adventures as Superboy. They live in the 31st century and are composed of powerful beings from all across the galaxy such as Lightning Lad or Saturn Girl. The Legion and its creative members are generally fan-favorites, but they admittedly have a complex history rife with reboots and retcons. The team’s last self-titled ongoing title ended in 2021, butthe Legion of Super-Heroes has reappeared in other DC Comics books likeGreen Arrowand, most recently,Justice Society of America.
DC All In has been all about putting a spotlight onto characters that haven’t had it in a while, like Zatanna, Metamorpho, and Mister Terrific. Interestingly enough, there is another Legion that’s been making its way around the DC Universe, one created by Darkseid in the Absolute Universe, though it’s highly unlikely that this is the team Waid was referring to at Wonder Con. But given this new Darkseid-backed Legion’s presence, it makes a lot of sense to re-introduce a proper Legion of Super-Heroes,possibly for the most important storyline they’ve ever been a part of in DC history.

DC Comics and the creators involved in the All In initiative have hinted that this is all leading to one of the biggest storylines ever conceived. While there’s only been so much seen with Darkseid’s Legion, the team is clearly playing a big part in what lies ahead. Now’s the best time to bring the true Legion of Super-Heroes back, hopefully so they can help the modern-day DC heroes stop whatever the New God has planned with his powerful army. Whatever’s about to come,DCfans are going to want to keep their eyes peeled for the Legion’s upcoming return.
