WARNING! Spoilers forDC Horror Presents…#2Batman and Robinmay not be remembered as the best big-screen outing for the Dark Knight, but DC is bringing George Clooney’s distinctive Batsuit back to the comics. The suit appears in the preview for the anthologyDC Horror Presents…#2, although perhaps not in the way most fans would expect.
TheDC Horror Presents…#2 preview opens with a story by Latoya Morgan, Tom Derenick and Walt Barna. Herereaders get to see theBatman and Robinsuit in all its glory, althoughit’s not worn by Batmanhimself, but rather a guy on Halloween out to impress his girlfriend.

The Batman cosplayer sneaks his girlfriend onto the set of her favorite TV show,Shadowcrest, where the cavorting couple will no doubt spend a night of romance and bliss and absolutely nothing scary or terrible will happen to them while sneaking around a dark and spooky place.
DC Brings theBatman and RobinBatsuit Back in Official Comics Canon
DC Horror Presents…#2 by Latoya Morgan, Aaron Sagers, Tom Derenick, Walt Barna, Ryan Kelly, Nick Filardi, Dee Cunniffe and Simon Bowland
Having theboyfriend wear theBatman and RobinBatsuit should tell readers an awful lot about his character, but what will be most interesting to learn is whether this story takes place in the DC Universe or in the “real” world. As the couple make their way through the set, the girlfriend notes thatAlbert Wesker (the Ventriliquist)made his first appearance inDetective Comics#583, suggesting that they’re DC fans from reality. Of course, given that there is noShadowcrestshow in our reality, this could just be a wink and a nod to Ventriliquist/Scarface’s real-world history in a story set within the DCU.
Not Even One of DC’s Top Writers Could Save Batman’s Most Hated Run
All-Star Batman and Robin wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but one lauded writer tried to wrap up the series with issues that never saw the light of day.
Whatever the case, the first of two spooky stories inDC Horror Presents…#2 looks to play off of a classic horror trope of a young couple stumbling into a bad situation. It’s also interesting to note thatShadowcrest is the ancestral home of Zatara and his daughter,Zatanna. Something of a mystical museum,Shadowcrest houses some of the most powerful mystic artifacts of the DCU. It also contains an extensive library and bestiary, in addition to a door that can send travelers across the Milky Way galaxy.

DC Horror Presents…Is a Spooky Good Time in the DC Universe
DC’s Horror Anthology Continues with Two New Tales
Whether theShadowcrestTV show seen in the preview pages is related to the Zatanna family or not remains to be seen, but readers can at least expect some terrifying shenanigans in this first story before all is said and done. Whether or not the young man wearing Clooney’s Batsuit and his girlfriend survive the night also remains to be seen, but the smart money lies with something awful happening before the story ends for the youngBatman and Robinfan. Even though it’s a terrible movie, it’s still nice to see DC paying homage to what came before with this latestBatman and RobinEaster egg.
