In a new interview byNikkeiwith the General Manager of the Gundam franchise, Naohiro Kogata, it was confirmed that, to celebrate the franchise’s 45th anniversary,the Gundam team are working on projects for both film and TV, so a new project will be released every year.

From here on out, we are celebrating [Gundam’s] 50th anniversary. We are working on several projects, both for TV and the theater so we can release a new project every year. We are also working on a sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway.
