Kathryn Hahn as Agatha and Joe Locke as Wiccan in Agatha All Along episode 9 (2024)

12How Did Agatha Harkness Get The Darkhold?

Still A Key MCU Mystery?

The Darkhold and Agatha’s history with the ancient and powerful bookwere referenced in the initial episodes ofAgatha All Along. There were even rumors that Agatha gave up her own son Nicholas Scratch in exchange for the Darkhold, though the final episodes ofAgatha All Alongproved that those rumors were ultimately false. That said, it was never revealed how Harkness actually got her copy of the Darkhold in the first place. At least at the onset, it certainly seemed like Harkness' dark past with the book was going to play a much bigger role inAgatha All Along.

11Where Did Billy Maximoff Get His Wiccan Costume?

Probably The Same Way Wanda Got Hers

Following the completion of the last trial of the Witches' Road, Agatha finds herself facing Aubrey Plaza’s Lady Death. Unable to defeat Death,Billy Maximoff’s Wiccan arrives to save the day and share his power with Harkness, wearing an impressive and comic-accurate costumethat had never been seen before beyond his blue crown. While it’s never explained outright, one could assume that Wiccan created the costume himself using his magic, not unlike his mother the Scarlet Witch as was seen in the finale ofWandaVisoin. Seeing as how they both created new realities, it’s probably not hard for either Maximoff to whip up some epic new outfits.

10How Did Agatha And Rio Get Together?

There’s Still Some Gaps In Their History

With their history and romance having been teased over the course of the entire series, one would have thought that much more of Rio aka Lady Death and Agatha’s relationshipwould been revealed in the finale episodes. However, this proved to be untrue.Ultimately, there was never a full explanation for Rio and Agatha’s shared past or how they met. After all,Agatha All Alongepisode 9’s flashback began after the pair had already become lovers, only revealing why they broke up with Lady Death taking Agatha’s son Nicholas only six years after he was born.

9Where Is Tommy Maximoff?

Reincarnated, But MIA

Agatha All Alongepisode 8 sees Billy helping Tommy Maximoff’s spiritfind an empty vessel, just as he did with William Kaplan shortly after Wanda brought down the Hex. Likewise, one can presume that the boy Billy found who was being drowned is Thomas Shepard, the same boy Tommy reincarnates as in the original Marvel Comics. That said,Agatha All Alongintentionally keeps Tommy’s whereabouts a mysterywith Billy and Agatha’s ghost becoming a coven of two to go and find him (wherever he may be).

8Who Was Nicholas Scratch’s Father?

The Comics Aren’t Much Help

While the flashback sequences inAgatha All Alongepisode 9 begin with the birth of Agatha’s son Nicholas, it’s never revealed who his father is. Saying that she used no spells or incantations to make her son, it’s safe to assume that Agatha had her son the typical old-fashioned way (unlike some other MCU witches whose first name starts with “W”). That said, the comics aren’t very helpful either when it comes towho Nicholas Scratch’s father might be, seeing as how the father is also unnamed on the page.

7Mephisto Was Confirmed, But Where Is He?

When Will We Finally See Him?

Amid the rumors of what happened to Agatha’s son,Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) tells Billy inAgatha All Alongepisode 3 that some say Nicholas became an agent of Mephisto, the Marvel Universe’s resident Demon Lord. That said,no appearance or other mention of Mephisto is made by the timeAgatha All Alongreaches its end. Keeping that in mind, the question has to be asked about where Mephisto is, what he’s been up to, when he might finally show up, as well as what his Faustian influence might already be behind in the MCU.

Agatha All Along Episode 8 & 9 Ending Explained: What Happens To Billy & Agatha And What It Sets Up

Agatha All Along episodes 8 and 9 end the show in a thrilling two-part finale, answering many major questions and teasing more to come in the MCU.

6Where Did Jennifer Kale Go After The Witches' Road?

Having survived the Witches' Road,Jennifer Kale reached the end after she successfully became unbound and restored her powers she hadn’t had for 100 years. To that end, the ending ofAgatha All Alongdoes see Jennifer leaving the town of Westview behind, though it’s unclear what her future might be. That said,Lilia Calderu (Patti Lupone) did say during herAgatha All Alongepisode 7 tarot readingthat Kale was “The Path Ahead”. As such, this certainly suggests that the future looks bright for Jennifer at that she’ll likely be featured again in the MCU at some point in the future.

5What Is Agatha’s Unfinished Business As A Ghost?

Redemption in General?

After Harkness sacrifices herself to Lady Death inAgatha All Alongepisode 8,Agatha is revealed to have become a ghost in episode 9. Having white hair and a very comic-accurate new costume,it’s unclear what exactly Agatha’s “unfinished business” on the mortal plane might be. That said, her unfinished business could simply just be overall redemption in general. After all, it would certainly help her one day face her son in the afterlife, something she’s currently unwilling to do considering all the witches and covens she murdered following Nicholas' death.

4Is There Actually A Way Back For The Scarlet Witch?

An MCU Return Is Still On The Table

Prior toAgatha All Along’srelease, many had been hoping that the new MCU show would facilitate the return of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch to the MCU. Despite having seemingly died at the end ofDoctor Strange in the Mlutiverse of Madness, many have held onto the belief that Wanda Maximoff is not dead or could one day be resurrected.WhileAgatha All Alongdidn’t feature the Scarlet Witch,it certainly helped make the idea of Wanda’s permanent demise far less definitive than ever before. That said, noting concrete was revealed about how the Scarlet With could come back, though the door for such a return is very much open.

3Does Wiccan Have The Same Comics Destiny In The MCU?

The Demiurge-To-Come

In the comics, Billy Maximoff’s Wiccan is said to be the fated Demiurge, a cosmic being with unlimited power over creation and reality itself. Connected to the beginning of all life on Earth and the birth of the Elder Gods themselves, the original comics version of Wiccan is known as the Demiurge-To-Comewho’s seemingly destined to take on this role in the future. While nothing was confirmed inAgatha All Along, Lilia Calderu’s tarot reading for Billy in episode 7 did say that Billy would possess the power"to make his goals a reality".To that end, it’s certainly possible that the MCU’s Wiccan could also be the destined Demiurge as well.
