The Book of Boba Fettdidn’t do its titular character any favors in the eyes of manyStar Warsfans, but there are still ways for the franchise to redeemBoba Fett. Din Djarin initially seemed to have become the definitiveStar Wars' bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor, until Boba made his shocking return inThe Mandalorianseason 2. Not only was Boba handled remarkably well, but the ending promised his rise to power on Tatooine.
Unfortunately,The Book of Boba Fettfailed to meet expectations and is still regarded as one of the most disappointingStar WarsTV shows. With a messy plot, bizarre execution of certain scenes, and a diluted version of the once ruthless bounty hunter, it’s easy to see why the show didn’t do Boba justice. Thankfully, a franchise as big asStar Warshas multiple options for bringing Boba back and redeeming his character.

10Including Boba Fett At The Battle Of Exegol
The Citizens' Fleet already includes several familiar faces
The Citizens’s Fleet turned the tide at the Battle of Exegol inStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, andthere’s no reason Boba couldn’t have been among those thousands of ships. The battle already featured several cameos and easter eggs placing otherStar Warson Exegol, which was very satisfying for the last film of the Skywalker Saga. A tie-in story could retcon Boba’s ship, theSlave I, as present somewhere in the fleet.

TheTantive IV

Since Boba would be much older at this point in the timeline, it could serve as a good conclusion to his story. It would also be cool to see former enemies coming together to defeat a powerful foe threatening everyone, a sentiment Boba tried to embody as Daimyo on Tatooine.Being part of a fleet would also give Boba another chance to be at the controls ofSlave I, doing serious damage to the Final Order.

9Another Boba Fett & Din Djarin Teamup
The perfect Mandalorian-armored duo
Episodes that pair Boba and Din Djarin are always a highlight in the Mandoverse, so another one may be just what Boba needs. Where Din Djarin was a man who lived by creed and the values of his clan, Boba swore his allegiance to no one and did not claim to be a Mandalorian. However, they found common ground over their shared sense of honor, even if they practiced it differently.
5 Reasons Why Boba Fett’s Character Had To Change (& 5 Reasons Why We Wish He Hadn’t)
Boba Fett felt significantly different in The Book of Boba Fett compared to previous appearances, but was Star Wars right to make this change?
This makes them a fantastic duo and could lead to more great stories, warriors with different views on life who can still fight side by side.Putting Boba with Din Djarin would also create a need to differentiate themand bring back the more ruthless qualities that Boba possessed inThe Mandalorianseason 2. Boba could appear inThe Mandalorian and Groguor a potentialMandalorianseason 4.

8A Second Season That Fully Focuses On Boba Fett
Not another “Mandalorian season 2.5” situation
WhileThe Book of Boba Fetthad problems from the start, its first four episodes at least did a good job of keeping the focus on Boba. The flashbacks even recounted his backstory so viewers didn’t need to have seenThe Mandalorian, allowing the series to stand on its own. Sadly, this was completely thrown out in episodes five and six, shifting the focus from Boba to Din Djarin and Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy, respectively.
This completely disrupted the show’s pacing and forced the season finale to rush the end of Boba’s arc, leading fans to dub these episodes “The Mandalorianseason 2.5.” IfThe Book of Boba Fettwere to receive a second season, keeping the focus squarely on Boba would automatically fix one of the show’s biggest weaknesses. With the flashbacks out of the way, season 2 could also focus more on Boba’s present-day story.

7A Prequel Show/Movie With A Younger Actor
Back to Boba Fett’s days as a bounty hunter
Seeing Temuera Morrison return to play Boba was a treat forStar Warsfans, but maybe a new actor could take up the role for a prequel series. This story could focus on Boba’s time as a bounty hunter between the prequel and original trilogies, which hasn’t been explored as much in canon. Alternatively, a prequel could show Boba doing something else, like when he joined Journeyman Protectors in Legends.
As for the actor who would don the armor,Daniel Logan is an obvious choice, as he played young Boba inStar Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clonesand voiced him inStar Wars: The Clone Wars. Another option is Bodie Taylor, who played clone troopers who appear to be in their twenties in theStar Warsprequels. Of course, with Boba often wearing a helmet,Star Warscan always cast a new actor.

Bringing together “Alpha” and Omega
Of all the bounty hunters who appeared inStar Wars: The Bad Batch, Boba was never one of them, which is unfortunate given his connection to Clone Force 99. Like Omega, Boba was a clone of Jango Fett with no growth acceleration, and he was even code-named “Alpha” at birth. Given this unique connection between Alpha and Omega,an encounter between Boba and the Bad Batch is too good a story to pass up.
Dee Bradley Baker would finally have a chance to voice an older Boba Fett, having voiced all of Jango Fett’s other clones in multiple animatedStar Warsshows.

Omega would be thrilled to meet another clone brother like herbut disappointed to learn he’s become a bounty hunter working for the Empire. This would highlight the fascinating dichotomy between Alpha and Omega, with one growing up to serve the Empire and the other joining the Rebel Alliance. The Empire has sent plenty of bounty hunters after Omega and the next could easily be Boba.
5Have Boba Fett Return To Bounty Hunting
Coming out of retirement for an important mission
While he may have left bounty hunting behind to become a crime boss, nothing says Boba has to stay that way forever. In theStar WarsLegends timeline, Boba became the leader of the Mandalorian Protectors, but he still continued to operate as a bounty hunter.Returning to bounty hunting would challenge Boba to leave behind what he has builtand face the man he used to be.
A new bounty-hunting job could tempt Boba to leave his responsibilities as Daimyo to someone else, as he never seemed fully comfortable with everything expected of a crime boss.

Boba could carry out a job that he can’t entrust to anyone else, hunt down an old rival, or be coerced under threat by the Empire or New Republic. A new bounty-hunting job could tempt Boba to leave his responsibilities as Daimyo to someone else, as he never seemed fully comfortable with everything expected of a crime boss. If Boba still wanted to be a leader, he could take over or create an alternative to the Bounty Hunters' Guild.
4Including Boba Fett In Dave Filoni’s New Republic Movie
A possible replacement for a Star Wars Legends character
A new story about Boba would certainly be welcome, but there are plenty ofupcomingStar Warsmoviesand TV shows where he can appear. The most logical option is Dave Filoni’s New Republic-era movie, which doesn’t have many details yet but is supposed to serve asa crossover between the various Mandoverse shows. The previousStar Warsshows Filoni has worked on seem to be setting up a canon adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn.
If this is the case,Boba could be a canon replacement for Talon Karde, a smuggler who took Jabba the Hutt’s place in the Legends timeline. Of course, Thrawn may just as easily appear inAhsokaseason 2, giving Boba a reason to appear in that show. However, if Filoni’s movie is the grand finale of the entireMandaloriansaga, saving Boba until the end may be more satisfying.
3Revive The Canceled Star Wars: 1313 Video Game
Allowing players to become Boba Fett
When Disney acquiredStar Warsin 2012, several projects that had been in development were canceled, includingStar Wars: 1313.The game would have followed a younger Boba traversing the Coruscant underworld on Level 1313, allowing players to become the galaxy’s best bounty hunter. Early game footage looked promising, leaving fans devastated when it was canceled.
Given how much promise the game showed in 2012,there’s no telling how great a1313remaster for modern consoles would be. The story would also be a good bridge between the young Boba seen inStar Wars: The Clone Warsand the older, more experienced bounty hunter seen in theStar Warsoriginal trilogy. Any excuse to take control of Boba and hunt down bounties is worth pursuing.
This was referenced but never explained in The Book of Boba Fett
One of the most exciting parts ofThe Book of Boba Fettwas the live-action debut of Cad Bane, but this also highlighted a missing chapter of theStar Warstimeline. The season finale implied that Bane and Boba had a history, but this was never fully explained or shown through flashbacks. Their rivalry was originally established in an episode ofStar Wars: The Clone Warsthat went unaired when the show was canceled.
Since otherunaired Clone Wars arcswere adapted into books, comics, and story reels, there’s no reason why the Bane/Boba arc couldn’t receive the same treatment. It would be the perfect conclusion to Boba’s Clone Wars story by showing how he’s grown as a bounty hunter, and it would perfectly set up his eventual redemption inThe Book of Boba Fett. An adaptation would also give Cade Bane more screen time than he got in live-action.
1Boba Fett Vs. Mace Windu
The ultimate Star Wars revenge story
An even more tantalizingStar Warsrivalry is between Boba Fett and Jedi Master Mace Windu, the man who killed his father. Although Boba sought revenge against Mace in the final arc ofStar Wars: The Clone Warsseason 2, they didn’t speak to each other until the last scene.Boba did fight Mace in the Legends junior novelStar Wars: Boba Fett - Pursuitby Elizabeth Hand, and it would be great to see a similar showdown in canon.
WhileStar Warshas admittedly brought too many characters back from the dead, it would be worth it ifan older Boba could hunt down Mace after Order 66. If that’s not an option, then it could be revealed that they fought sometime during the Clone Wars, giving their rivalry a proper conclusion. Such a thrilling concept may never happen, but there will always be ways forBoba Fettto redeem himself afterThe Book of Boba Fett.
Boba Fett
A perfect clone of bounty hunter Jango Fett, Boba Fett inherited his father’s profession and operated as a bounty hunter through the Clone Wars and the Dark Times of the Empire’s reign. Believed killed on Tatooine, he survived and sought redemption of sorts after he was helped by native Tusken Raiders. In The Mandalorian era, Boba Fett now operates as a crime lord - having taken over Jabba the Hutt’s old empire.
The Book of Boba Fett
Cast
After pulling himself out of the Sarlaac pit, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) is kidnapped by the Tusken Raiders. But after gaining their trust, Boba is able to return to Tatooine and claim Jabba the Hutt’s throne with the help of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). The Book of Boba Fet also directly led into The Mandalorian season 3, which premiered in March 2023.
