The Witch Queen was one of the strongest, most intimidating characters inBlack Cloverearly on. Her power was mysterious, her goals were obscure, and she was willing to use obscene amounts of force to make them happen. If it wasn’t for Vanessa going past her limits in the middle of the battle, she and the rest of her squad would have been captured and probably killed.Vanessa’s Thread Magic is easily one of the most powerful in the series, giving her the ability to rewrite fate itself.
Black Clover Achieved Something One Piece Never Could, & It Proves Why The Former Series Deserves More Praise
Asta continued to show his exceptional trait, which Luffy lost as the series progressed.
When she gets more practice with this ability, she’ll be truly unstoppable. Even just barely understanding what she could do, she was able to negate all the Witch Queen’s attacks as if the Queen never even moved. She’s saved her allies on countless occasions and has even brought them back from the dead more than once too.
9Vanica Zogratis
The Blood and Curse Magic Master
Vanica Zogratis loves being evil. She’s the most sadistic of the Zogratis trio and pairs perfectly with the devil she’s hosting, Megicula. Like the Witch Queen, Vanica’s native magic is Blood Magic, an incredibly powerful magic that she uses to transform blood into varying shapes of different weapons and attacks. Her Curse Magic that comes from Megicula might be even more powerful, allowing her to place powerful curses on her enemies for years after their initial battle is over. She’s easily one of themost powerful women inBlack Clover.
When she comes to the Heart Kingdom looking for Lolopechika, a combination of the Black Bulls and the Heart Kingdom’s own defenses can barely slow her down.Vanica ramps up to 70% Devil Power to deal with her enemies in no time at all.She doesn’t immediately kill Lolopechika so that she can use the Queen of the Heart Kingdom to make Noelle get stronger, toying with her opponents until the very end.
8Licht
Leader of the Elves and Master of Sword Magic
Licht is the leader of the elves ofBlack Cloverand one of their strongest fighters.His Sword Magic is second to none, and combined with the first Wizard King Lumiere, he’s capable of devastating Light Magic attacks. When Licht is first revived, he’s in a half-conscious state. He’s not entirely sure what’s going on but is told to fight Asta and Yuno. While most other characters wouldn’t stand a chance against the pair even fully awake, Licht has them on their heels.
Secre eventually fully revives Licht, and he’s brought back to his senses. He fights the devil Zagred with the rest of the heroes and does a lot of damage quickly. One of the greatest moments in the fight comes when Licht draws on the power of all the elves touse his Ultimate Magic: Demon-Dweller Sword-Conquering Eon.
7Yuno Grinberryall
One of the Strongest Spirit Magic Users Already
Yuno Grinberryall has a lot going for him. He’s a former royal from the Spade Kingdom, the chosen user of the Wind Spirit Sylph, and the reincarnation of Licht and Tetia’s son.He wants to be the next Wizard King, and he has the potential to make it happen.Like his eternal rival and best friend Asta, Yuno is able to get past any situation he’s in. No matter how bad the odds are, Yuno always finds a way out. He can combine with Sylph to use his Spirit Magic to its fullest.
Whether he’s fighting with Asta or with the rest of his Golden Dawn, Yuno is always in the best fights inBlack Clover. He uses his Spirit Dive, Spirit Storm, and Wind Blades Showers abilities perfectly, destroying his enemies with gusts of wind. He even put up a great fight against Zenon Zogratis, a character contracted to a devil with much more battle experience than young Yuno.
6Zenon Zogratis
The Bone and Spatial Magic User
Zenon Zogratis is the kuudere character of the Zogratis trio.He’s cold, calculated, and willing to do anything to accomplish his goal. His combination of Bone and Spatial magic makes him one of the deadliest characters in the series. When he comes to the Golden Dawn to kidnap William Vangeance, there’s nothing the Clover Knights can do to stop him. Even Yuno, using Spirit and Wind Magic together, can barely break Zenon’s external bones, and can’t do anything about his ability to teleport around the battlefield.

Although it’s often called a Naruto copycat, Black Clover and characters like Asta would foretell today’s most prevalent themes and mechanics
Zenon’s arrival to his brother Dante’s battle couldn’t have been better timed. He saved his brother right after he lost to Asta and Yami’s joint efforts, and even stabbed Yami when he wasn’t looking. Zenon was able to save his brother from death’s door and capture Yami all at the same time, making for one of the most devastating losses to the Black Bulls and the Clover Kingdom as a whole.
5Lumiere Silvamillion Clover
The First Wizard King and Light Magic Master
Lumiere Silvamillion Clover is the first Wizard King and the man from whom most of the royal families come from. He uses one of the most powerful magic abilities inBlack Cloverin Light Magic. Light Magic gives Lumiere the ability to use explosive bursts of light and giant swords made of light in battle. He can also travel using his light, flying across battlefields faster than his opponents can understand. When Licht transformed into a terrible monster, Lumiere was able to defeat him with a litany of gigantic swords of light.
When he’s revived to fight the demon Zagred, he’s in top form. He combines with Licht to create the powerful Demon-Dweller Sword: Protecting Light Spell, sharing his light with his allies and boosting their speed and defense at the same time. Lumiere is kind, smart, and incredibly powerful. It’s easy to see how he became the first Wizard King.
4Yami Sukehiro
Dark Magic That Transcends Dimensions
Yami Sukehiro might be the single strongest Magic Knight Captain inBlack Clover.While his Dark Magic is one of the strongest in the series, his ability to overcome every challenge thrown his way is even stronger. Yami is so determined to be a Captain his squad can follow that he’s willing to break reality to make it happen. When his squad was attacked during the Temple Battle Royale, Yami and Gifso are trapped in a Different Dimension Sphere, stopping them from helping.
Yami summons his strength and unleashes a powerful Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash, slashing through multiple dimensions. He arrives on the battlefield, commends his juniors for their efforts, and finishes the powerful Vetto with the same attack.Yami is strong by himself and an incredible motivator, constantly giving his squad the motivation and confidencethey need to go beyond their limits.
3Asta
Anti-Magic is the Most Powerful Magic of All
Asta is in a league of his own inBlack Clover.He’s the only person in the world to control Anti Magic, the most powerful magical ability there is. When other people send their strongest spells his way, he can simply deflect them. He’s also one of the hardest workers in the series. Asta never relies on his magical talent, mainly because he doesn’t have any. He spends his time training his body and his ability to be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
He’s barely a teenager by the time Dante Zogratis comes to capture his captain. He’s able to put up a great fight by himself even though he’s severely disadvantaged. One of thebest fights inBlack Cloverhappens when Yami arrives on the battlefield. He fights Dante with Asta together, eventually tossing Asta his katana to hit Dante with the finishing blow.
2Dante Zogratis
Body and Gravity Magic and Nearly Unstoppable
Dante Zogratis is one of the most intimidating villains inBlack Clover.He’s able to use his Body and Gravity Magics to powerful effect against the Black Bulls, taking on most of the squad at once. If it wasn’t for Yami arriving in the nick of time, he might’ve obliterated Yami’s squad. Asta is hardly able to put up a fight against the leader of the Spade Kingdom. When Yami arrives, it’s two-on-one, but the Bulls still don’t have a great chance. Dante is even able to throw a giant sword through Gauche in the middle of the fight, mortally wounding him.
Dante’s regeneration abilities are second to none. He’s able to regrow his entire torso after Yami destroys it. If it wasn’t for Yami and Asta’s joint effort, Dante would’ve easily won. Luckily for him, his brother Zenon arrived with even better timing than Yami, abducting the Dark Magic user and saving his elder brother at the same time.
1Julius Novachrono
The Current Wizard King’s Time Magic is Unbeatable
Julius Novachrono is easily the strongest character inBlack Clover.Even after his death and revival as a 13-year-old, he’s still #1.His Time Magic is unstoppable, allowing him to defeat his opponents before they fully understand what’s happening.He’s the 28th Wizard King of the Clover Kingdom and could easily be one of the strongest. He only died because he chose to protect the entire Kingdom from Patry when he decided to target innocent civilians.
Julius is so strong that he’s the only character inBlack Cloverto survive death itself
Outside his Time Magic, Julius can change his appearance at will. He can sneak into enemy organizations or blend into a crowd without anyone noticing. Physically, he’s incredibly fast and strong, taking out several Eye of the Midnight Sun members before they could fight back. Julius is so strong that he’s the only character inBlack Cloverto survive death itself.
