Every Bounty Hunter In Star Wars Movies & Shows
The world of Star Wars is full of dangerous rogues earning credits as bounty hunters. Here are all of the Star Wars bounty hunters in canon.
15Run From: Black Krrsantan
Most Notable Appearance: The Book of Boba Fett
Black Krrsantan is an odd example of a bounty hunter because he didn’t start his career that way - he began as a gladiator. Shortly after, he would go into the employ of Jabba the Hutt and become one of the crime boss' best bounty hunters. Krrsantan also often proved that he was very capable of winning difficult fights. He was known to use other Wookiees as live bait, he had metal fillings injected in his fists to hit harder, and he had even gone toe to toe with Obi-Wan Kenobi and lived. Anyone who found themselves in Black Krrsantan’s crosshairs didn’t remain there long.
The Book of Boba Fett
Cast
After pulling himself out of the Sarlaac pit, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) is kidnapped by the Tusken Raiders. But after gaining their trust, Boba is able to return to Tatooine and claim Jabba the Hutt’s throne with the help of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). The Book of Boba Fet also directly led into The Mandalorian season 3, which premiered in March 2023.
14Run From: Zuckuss
Most Notable Appearance: The Empire Strikes Back
Bounty hunters are not a rare sight inStar Wars, but Force-sensitive bounty hunters certainly are. The only Force-sensitive bounty hunter so far shown inStar Warscanon was Zuckuss, one of theDarth Vader’s bounty hunters inThe Empire Strikes Back. While he wasn’t able to find Han Solo and theMillennium Falconbefore Boba Fett, Zuckuss was still a threat in his own right. His Force sensitivity made him an excellent tracker, and his partner, 4-LOM, made them a dangerous double-team. InStar WarsLegends, Zuckuss was an even bigger threat, and he was capable of killing anyone for any reason.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
The Empire Strikes Back is the second installment in the original Star Wars trilogy, directed by Irvin Kershner. Released in 1980, it follows Luke Skywalker as he trains under Jedi Master Yoda, while Princess Leia, Han Solo, and the Rebel Alliance face ongoing threats from the Galactic Empire and Darth Vader.
13Run From: Caij Vanda
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Caij Vanda didn’t do much actual bounty hunting inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, but that doesn’t mean anyone was safe around her.Caij was best known for tricking Cal Kestis into killing her opposition for her, and then attempting to take the bounty on his head once it had grown large enough. She was ruthless, efficient, and incredibly deceptive. Caij had angered enough powerful people that her bounty was big enough for Boba Fett himself, and the legend even remarked on her ability to survive. Neither friend nor foe was safe from Caij, so the best course of action would be to run at the sight of her.
12Run From: Ax Tagrin
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars Resistance
Star Warshasn’t delved much into the bounty hunters operating during the sequel trilogy, but of the ones it has, one hired gun stands above the rest: Ax Tagrin.Ax worked directly with the First Order inStar Wars Resistance, and his hunt for Resistance spy Norath Kev proved that Ax was absolutely deadly with both his conventional weaponry and his fists. He was able to take down both Synara San and Jarek Yeager in hand-to-hand combat at the same time. Anyone with a price on their head during the sequel trilogy would have had to watch their back for Ax Tagrin.
11Run From: Bossk
Bossk was a bit of a conundrum. On one hand, he was known to have a good deal of personal honor and respect for theBounty Hunters' Guild and code, and he had even helped protagonists like Ezra Bridger in the past. On the other hand, Bossk was both literally and figuratively cold-blooded. As a Trandoshan, Bossk had a few reptilian abilities, like limb regeneration. He was also extremely violent: Bossk attacked Wookiees like Black Krrsantan on sight, and often did unspeakable things to his prey. The safest bet would be to run from him, and not wait to find out if his honor or instincts would win out.
Chewbacca vs. Bossk: Which Star Wars Powerhouse Would Win in A Fight?
When it comes to Star Wars' non-Force sensitive creatures, few have as much muscle as Chewbacca and Bossk. The only question is… who is stronger?
10Run From: Embo
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Embo wasn’t such a dangerous bounty hunter because he was cruel: he was dangerous because he was often extremely efficient and unemotional. Embo rarely spoke, and he often served as a follower to another bounty hunter. He went about his jobs with surgical precision and a cold attitude, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to get his bounty.Embo was also one of the few bounty hunters who lived long enough to experience a peaceful death, which was a sign of his abilities. If Embo took a bounty, very little would stop him from collecting on it.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an animated series that explores the intense conflict between the Republic and the Separatists. Featuring a mix of loyalty shifts and alliances, it delves into complex mysteries of the Force and showcases pivotal moments for characters like Anakin Skywalker and Master Yoda.
9Run From: IG-88
If being ruthless and bloodthirsty was necessary to make a good bounty hunter, then IG-88 had a strong case for being the best.IG-88 was a rogue assassin droid, and his incomplete programming made him one of the most vicious bounty hunters inStar Warsand made him literally seek out conflict. He was capable of incredible feats due to his mechanical body and digital processor, and he became a sort of legend in bounty hunting circles. IG-88 often preferred “dead” over “alive” for his bounties, though, so retreat was often the only safe option when dealing with him.
IG-88 is often confused for IG-11, the bounty hunting droid featured inThe Mandalorian. While both were IG-series assassin droids, IG-11 was destroyed and subsequently rebuilt by Din Djarin, while IG-88’s fate has not been revealed.

8Run From: Aurra Sing
Only a handful of bounty hunters were able to go head to head with a Jedi and live to tell the tale, and Aurra Sing was one of them. Sing was active throughout the Clone Wars, and her missions often made her an enemy of the Republic. She was a skilled sharpshooter, an accomplished acrobat, and a terrifyingly effective manipulator: she was partially responsible for Boba Fett’s villainy. Sing was also extremely brutal - she was known to kill unarmed and wounded prisoners, betray former allies, and do anything to save her own skin.

7Run From: Jango Fett
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
Jango Fett was arguably one of the best bounty hunters ever, and almost certainly the most important.Jango was the genetic template for the Clone Army, and he was also the father of Boba Fett, one of the most legendary figures inStar Wars. He was also a legend in his own right, and his status allowed him to take jobs against anyone, including the most powerful people in the galaxy. Jango had no qualms about taking on Jedi, taking money from the Sith, and running into situations that would get lesser hunters instantly killed.
Jango Fett’s Star Wars History In Canon & Legends Explained
Jango Fett has a dark and intriguing history in the Star Wars canon and Legends continuities, expanding his role in the Star Wars saga.
Cad Bane was arguably the Platonic ideal of aStar Warsbounty hunter. He was brilliant: his plans consistently fooled and bested the Jedi. He was ruthless and greedy: by his own admission, he would take any job for the right price, including ones against children. He was quick: he bested legendary warriors like Hunter and Boba Fett in duels. Cad Bane had it all, and he was about as dangerous as a villain could be without a lightsaber or the Force. If Cad Bane got someone in his sights, even running wouldn’t save them.
