Players inBlack Myth: Wukongcan find various items as the Destined One throughout their journey. Soaks are some of the most useful items to find. There are a total of 27 Soaks spread throughout the six chapters. Each Soak has its own effect on the Destined One’s Gourd, andup to four can be equipped at the same time. Some Soaks are better than others in terms of special effects and rarity. Some are also harder to obtain.

Players who aren’t sure where to look can miss the chance to find and equip these unique items. While it’s entirely optional to collect them, Soaks can drastically change gameplay, making certain aspects of the game much more accessible. Players who don’t want to collect them all should watch out for these 10 essentialBlack Myth: WukongSoaks.

Black Myth Wukong Copper Pill Soak

10Copper Pill

Use Rock Solid At No Mana Cost

Copper Pillis an Epic-rarity soak. While I love the effects of the Copper Pill Soak, I’m listing it so low because its use is more specialized than general. However, if you like me andlove using the Rock Solid SpellinBlack Myth: Wukong, this is the Soak for you.

While traveling throughthe Flaming Mountainsor any area infested with flames or riddled with fire-type enemies, the Destined One will likely suffer burn damage. While there are other items that can help, the Flame Mediator Soak is the best defense against flames. Equipping it and drinking from the Gourdincreases burn resistancefor a short time. So, if you’re going up against enemies like Mother of Flamlings orBlack Myth: Wukong’s Cart bosses, the Flame Mediator is an excellent choice in your collection.

Goat Skull Black Myth Wukong

Chapter 5: Near the Cooling Slope Shrine

Getting the Flame Mediator Soak will have to wait until Chapter 5, but that’s okay as this is the chapter that has a lot of flame-infested areas, so you’ll get the most use out of it here. The only way to obtain this Soak is forSearing-Fire and Scorching-Fire to drop it. In the Field of Fire, you can find these enemies near the Cooling Slope Shrine.

7Flower Primes

Remove All Four Banes From The Destined One

Flower Primesis a Mythical Soak—in fact, it’s one of two Mythical Soaks. Its Mythical status should be all you need to know to want this Soak in your collection, but to pique your interest even further, the Flower Primes Soak’s abilityremoves all Four Bane states from the Destined One. It’s an extremely strong Soak and worth picking up, especially if you plan on playing through aNew Game Plus. It’s also great for the last part of your initial playthrough because if all four Banes infect you, the Destined One is done for you.

Chapter 6: Shen Monkey Vendor

Because it’s so powerful, the Flower Primes Soakisn’t available until Chapter 6and costs a pretty penny. Rest at a Shrine in Chapter 6, then travel to the Bamboo Grove in Black Wind Mountain from Chapter 5, as inShark R’svideo. Speak to theShen Monkey Vendor, who will have the Flower Primes Soak for sale for 12,000 Will.

6Fruit of Dao

Become Invincible For Longer After Dodge

When worst comes to worst, and the Destined One is low on health, Dodge becomes useful as it grants a brief moment of invincibility. With the Fruit of Dao Soak equipped, drinking from the Gourd increases the Dodge’s invincibility for a short time. An increased moment of invincibility can help the Destined One escape a stronger foe, find a place to hide and heal himself. It can literally be the moment between life and death.

Stranded Loong’s Whisker Black Myth Wukong

Chapter 4; Webbed Hollow

The Destined One must be in Chapter 4 to find the Fruit of Dao Soak. According toRomulus, it’s mostly down to luck as Fly-Whisk Daoist enemies willrandomly drop this Soak. These enemies are in the Webbed Hollow.

Unlike other items, including the Gourd itself, you can’t upgrade Soaks to increase their effects. Their buffs are the same throughout the game.

The Destined One Standing In Front Of The Shen Monkey Vendor in Black Myth Wukong

Fly-Whisk Daoists tend to hang around the Temple of Yellow Flowers. The best advice here is to keep killing them until one drops the Fruit of Dao Soak. Eventually, one will, and you may add this Soak to your collection. They aren’t the hardest enemy to overcome, but it can be annoying to kill so many after a while.

5Goat Skull

Boost Maximum Health Temporarily

With over 100 bosses to fight inBlack Myth: Wukong, the Destined One will surely be low on health sometimes. In those moments, it’s easy to panic, especially if facing off against a tough boss who is also low on health. With one hit, you’re done for, and all your hard work is down the drain.

Soaks can be equipped and removed at any Shrine.

However, if you have theGoat SkullSoak equipped, drinking from the Gourd willincrease the Destined One’s maximum health for a short time. Despite the brief effect, it might be enough for you to take down your opponent or even flee until you can regain more health. Either way, it’s a life-saving Soak.

Chapter 2: Picking Licorice Plants

Fortunately, the Goat Skull Soak can be obtained as early as Chapter 2, and it’s not too hard to get, though it can be time-consuming. All you have to do to find the Goat Skull Soak ispick Licorice plants and wait for them to drop randomly. Licorice plants are all over, but most are found at Yellow Wind Ridge.

4Slumbering Beetle Husk

Reduce Cooldown For All Spells

Spells are one of the best combat methods inBlack Myth: Wukong. However, Spells come with a price: a cooldown and mana use. With the Slumbering Beetle Husk Soak, one of those prices becomes obsolete. When equipped with the Destined One’s Gourd and after taking a sip, the Slumbering Beetle Huskreduces a big chunk of cooldown for all Spells. However, there is a caveat here. While the cooldown is reduced, so is the Destined One’s movement speed. So, make sure you don’t need to be quick on your feet when using this Soak.

Chapter 5: Near the Emerald Hall

The Slumbering Beetle Husk Soak can befound in Chapter 5 by visiting Furnace Valley. Head to the Emerald Hall Shrine, as inWoW Quest’svideo, then upstairs. To the right is an altar, and to the left of the altar is a table with the Slumbering Beetle Husk Soak.

3Stranded Loong’s Whisker

Immobilize Your Enemies For Longer

For fans of the spell Immobilize, the Stranded Loong’s Whisker Soak is a must-have. Personally, Immobilize is one of my favoriteSpells inBlack Myth: Wukong, as it allows me to freeze my enemies and avoid certain death. During Immobilize, I can launch attacks or heal myself if needed. However, the effects of Immobilize don’t last too long, but with the Stranded Loong’s Whisker Soak, the duration of Immobilize is greatly extended.

Increases the duration of Immobilize

Chapter 3: Near the Mirrormere Shrine

The Stranded Loong’s Whisker is definitely one that can easily be missed, as it’s hidden in a container on a frozen lake. To find this Soak, head to the Mirrormere Shrinein the New West in Chapter 3. From there, head onto the frozen lake and move along the right side. Eventually, you’ll reach a container with the Soak inside.

2Undying Vine

Give The Destined One A Boost In Stamina Recovery

Running out of stamina is a common but frustrating issue inBlack Myth: Wukong. Luckily, there’s a Soak to help with that issue, too. When using the Undying Vine Soak, the Destined One willimmediately recover a good portion of staminaand benefit from an increased stamina recovery rate for a short time.

The Undying Vine Soak is another Soak that can be picked up in the Webbed Hollow. So, you may kill two birds with one stone by picking up the Fruit of Dao and the Undying Vine Soaks at the same time. To get the Undying Vine Soak, you’ll have tofarm Lushleaf enemies around the Purple Cloud Mountain. Eventually, the Soak will drop, like inGazelle Fox’svideo.

1Guanyin’s Willow Leaf

Resurrect And Receive New Gourd Uses

The final soak on the list is the second and last Mythical Soak. Being a Mythical Soak, the Guanyin’s Willow Leaf Soak comes with an extraordinary special effect—upon resurrection, all Gourd uses are recovered. Since Gourds have limited use, and the Destined One may perish only to be resurrected, this Soak can be beneficial.

Recovers Gourd uses after resurrection

Getting the Guanyin’s Willow Leaf Soak isn’t tricky, but you won’t get it until Chapter 6. Like the other Mythical Soak, you’re able to purchase Guanyin’s Willow Leaf from theShen Monkey Vendor for 14,400 Will. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy it until you start a New Game Plus. However, this Soak is worth picking up as it will help in your second playthrough.

The Destined One is destined for great things. To help him on his journey, collecting the right items, including Soaks, is a good idea. Soaks can help the Destined One out in a pinch by restoring health and stamina; Gourd uses or simply by increasing the duration of certain Spells like Immobilize or Rock Solid. Either way, these 10 Soaks will help anyone playingBlack Myth: Wukongfor the first or even a second time.
